Missionary in Hospital, Critical Condition

Gospel for Asia
For Immediate Release

Kirtan suffers with a blood disorder, thalassemia, that could take his life.

SOUTH ASIA (ANS) -- On July 12, Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Kirtan Boshak was admitted to a hospital for a serious health problem affecting his blood.

In 2006, while Kirtan was still a Bible college student, he suffered from thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder that affects a person's hemoglobin. Thalassemia destroys the red blood cells, leading to anemia, which in some cases can damage organs and even cause death due to heart failure.

Kirtan's condition is presently very serious, and he is in urgent need of a blood transfusion.

To add to Kirtan's distress, his parents, who disowned him after he decided to follow Christ, have yet to visit him.

Much prayer is needed for Kirtan. Please pray for God's hand of mercy and healing to be upon Kirtan, and that He will provide for every need he and his family have. Pray also for Kirtan's parents to embrace the love of Christ and be reconciled with their son.

Gospel for Asia is an evangelical mission organization based in Carrollton, Texas, involved in sharing the love of Jesus across South Asia.
